FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about how we work and how your industry shapes business finance.
What does Every Business Loan do?
We explain business finance industry by industry and help Australian business owners find finance that suits how their business actually works. You tell us what you need through a short enquiry, and a real person calls you with options.
Does enquiring affect my credit score?
No. There's no credit check when you first enquire. A credit check only happens after you've talked through the options and decided to go ahead with an application.
Will my details be passed to lots of lenders?
No. We don't do spray-and-pray. Your enquiry is read by a real person and matched properly, so your phone won't start ringing with lenders you've never heard of.
How much can I borrow?
Property-secured business loans run from $20,000 to $5,000,000 using first mortgages, second mortgages or caveat loans over residential or commercial property. Unsecured, cash-flow and line-of-credit options for trading businesses typically run from $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover and bank statements.
Why does my industry matter?
It changes how lenders look at your business: how you get paid, how seasonal your income is, which licences must stay current and what your equipment would be worth second-hand. Knowing your industry lets us ask the right questions and approach lenders who understand it.
My industry isn't one of the 44 you cover. Can you still help?
Very likely. The guides cover common industries, but we look at finance for almost any Australian business with an ABN and a genuine business purpose. Choose the closest industry in the form and describe your business in your own words.
Do I need property to get a business loan?
No. Trading businesses with steady income banked into a business account can look at unsecured options. Property security mainly helps with larger amounts, shorter trading histories or credit issues.
What are your interest rates?
We don't publish rates, because every facility is priced on the business's individual circumstances — industry, trading history, security, amount and term all play a part. You'll see the full cost before you decide anything.
Can I get a business loan with bad credit or ATO debt?
Past credit problems and ATO debt are considered case by case. Be upfront about them in your enquiry — it helps us match you with an option that can actually approve.
How long have I got to be trading?
It depends on the lane. Unsecured lenders generally want to see several months of banked trading, and more history usually means more options. Property-secured lending can work for newer businesses because the property does more of the work.
What can the money be used for?
Genuine business purposes: equipment, vehicles, stock, fit-outs, wages, marketing, bridging slow payers, paying tax, buying a business or a rent roll, and more. We don't arrange personal loans.
What documents will I need?
At first, nothing. Once you decide to go ahead, most applications start with recent business bank statements, BAS and ID, plus property details for secured options. The industry finder lists the documents that matter most for 44 industries.
Can I use a family member's property as security?
Often, if the owner fully agrees and understands the risk. They'll be asked to get independent advice and will sign the security documents themselves.
Is there a cost to enquire?
No. Enquiring and talking through options costs nothing. Any fees for a facility are explained clearly before you decide to proceed.
Are you a bank?
No. We work with business lenders on your behalf, including property-secured and unsecured lenders, so we can look beyond one bank's appetite for your industry.
How do I start?
Fill in the 60-second enquiry form. Answer as accurately as you can — especially industry, amount, turnover and whether you own property — and a real person will call you.
